How to Decorate a Restroom for Barrier-free Facilities?

(1) The barrier-free design of public WC restroom should meet the following requirements:
● The barrier-free facilities for the women's WC restroom include at least one barrier-free toilet compartment and one barrier-free wash basin. The barrier-free facilities for the men's WC restroom include at least one accessible toilet compartment, a barrier-free urinal and a barrier-free hand wash Pots.
● The entrance and passage of WC restroom should be convenient for the wheelchair to enter and rotate, and the diameter of the swing is not less than 1.50m.
● The door should be easy to open, and the clear width should not be less than 800mm.
● The ground should be non-slip and free of water.
● Accessible WC restroom should be provided with barrier-free signs, and barrier-free signs should comply with the relevant provisions of Section 3.16 of this code.


 
(2) Accessible toilet compartment shall comply with the following requirements:
● Accessible toilet compartment should be convenient for wheelchair users to reach and enter, the size should be 2.00m*1.50m, should not be less than 1.80m*1.00m;
● The door of the accessible toilet apartment should be opened outwards. If it is opened inward, the wheelchair swivel space with a diameter of not less than 1.50m should be left in the toilet compartment after opening. The clear width of the door should not be less than 800mm, and the outside of the swing door should be Set a 900mm high cross handle, set a 900mm high closing handle on the side of the closed door leaf, and use a bolt that can be opened urgently outside the door;
● There should be a toilet in the toilet compartment. A horizontal safety grab bar with a length of not less than 700mm should be set at 700mm from the ground on both sides of the toilet compartment, and a vertical safety grab bar with a height of 1.40m should be set on the other side.


 
(3) The barrier-free design of accessible WC restroom should meet the following requirements:
● The location should be close to the public WC restroom. It should be convenient for the wheelchair to enter and rotate. The diameter of the swing is not less than 1.50m.
● The area should not be less than 4.00 square meter.
● When the swing door is used, the door should be opened outwards. If it is opened inward, the wheelchair swivel space with a diameter of not less than 1.50m should be left after opening. The clear width of the door should not be less than 800mm, and the swing door should be 900mm high. Cross-handle, the door lock on the side of the door should be opened urgently outside the door.
● The ground should be non-slip and free of water.
● The interior should be equipped with a toilet, wash basin, multi-function table, clothes hook and call button.
● The WC restroom should comply with the relevant provisions of Article 3.9.2 of this code. The wash basin should comply with the relevant provisions of Article 3.9.4 of this code.
● The length of the multi-functional table should not be less than 700mm, the width should not be less than 400mm, and the height should be 600mm.
● The design of the safety grab bar shall comply with the relevant provisions of Article 3.9.4 of this code.
● The height of the hook from the ground should not exceed 1.20m.
● A rescue call button with a height of 400mm to 500mm should be set on the wall next to the toilet.
● Accessibility signs shall be provided at the entrance, and barrier-free signs shall comply with the relevant provisions of Section 3.16 of this code.


 
(4) Other barrier-free facilities in the WC restroom shall comply with the following requirements:
● The height of the barrier-free urinal should be no more than 400mm from the ground. The sides of the urinal should be 250mm away from the wall. Set the vertical safety grab bar with a height of 1.20m and set the height to 900mm at 550mm from the wall. Horizontal safety grab bar, connected to the vertical safety grab bar.
● The center of the faucet of the barrier-free hand basin should be more than 550mm from the side wall. The bottom should be 750mm wide, 650mm high and 450mm deep for the movement of the knee and toe of the wheelchair. Install the mirror above the wash basin. The tap should be a lever type faucet or an inductive automatic water outlet method;
● The safety grab bar should be installed firmly, the diameter should be 30mm~40mm, and the inner distance wall should not be less than 40mm;
● The paper extractor should be placed in front of the side of the toilet, with a height of 400mm to 500mm.


 
Note:
● Public WC restroom for disabled toilets male and female public WC restroom should each have a barrier-free compartment;
● The public WC restroom accessible toilet compartment is set at the near entrance and exit;
● The area of ​​new accessible toilet compartment should be no less than 1.80m*1.40m;
● The area of ​​the accessible toilet compartment should not be less than 2.00m*1.00m;
● After the door leaf of the toilet is opened outwards, the clearance of the door opening should not be less than 0.80m, and the inside of the door should be closed.
● The area of ​​barrier-free special toilet is ≥4 square meter.
● The sliding door opened by the wheelchair and the door should be opened. The wall width on the side of the door handle should be no less than 0.50m (the sliding door should be used for the WC and the door should be opened when the door is opened).
● The door leaf should be easy to open under a rear operation. The height of the door sill and the height difference between the inside and outside of the door should not exceed 15mm, and the slope should be excessive.
● The accessibility button should be set up at a height of 0.40~0.50m from the ground.
● There are 0.70m horizontal grab bars (fixed or rotating) and 1.40m high vertical grab bars on both sides of WC. The grab bars are located 0.05m from the edge of the wash basin. The grab bars should be installed firmly.
● The WC restroom is equipped with a 1.20m high hook.
